The late Ian McMullin started the McMullin Group after retiring from the iconic Spotless Group that he created from a single drycleaning store in 1946. Applying this same entrepreneurial expertise to property development, he developed some key investment principles:
- Buy new or value add properties in growth areas
- Secure brand name tenants on long term leases
- Lock in your interest rates and hold on for the long term.
The McMullin Group began operations in the early 1970s, developing property across a range of industries and with a range of clients. It has developed more than $1.5 billion in real estate assets over this time, as well as diversifying its interests into storage solutions, direct retail investments and aged care.
MPG Funds Management originally evolved from the McMullin Group, to share the opportunities of these property developments and to take advantage of larger projects. Initially MPG worked mainly on projects that McMullin Group was developing, however MPG has also evolved and is realising opportunities independently.
MPG currently has more than $400 million in funds under management and manages more than 100 tenancies in 5 states of Australia. Our investors range from Mums and Dads to self-managed super funds and larger superannuation funds and private investors.
